Welcome to RemoteHotelier.
Hotels often chase new systems to improve operations. But what if the real efficiency boost comes from linking the tools you already have? One recent move shows how connecting housekeeping with the front desk could change everything.
Also, today is the first Thursday of the month, which means our Deals of the Month recap is here with the most important investments and acquisitions from the past weeks.
Let’s get started!
In today’s newsletter:

🏨 + 5 deals & updates
💼 + 3 new jobs in hotel tech
🤝 + 5 deals of the month
🗞️ + 3 hotel tech extra news
#1 Another piece in the Mews puzzle.
Mews acquires Flexkeeping and completes its 13th acquisition in just six years, welcoming a housekeeping software into its expanding hospitality management suite.
The platform connects housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk staff with real-time task coordination and multi-language support.
Mews adds a new module to its existing catalogue, which already includes some like payments, revenue optimization, and point-of-sale tools.
Mews Ventures led the acquisition as part of a broader plan to innovate in hospitality tech.
In some cases, Flexkeeping has helped hotels increase productivity by 40% and reduce guest complaints by 45%.
Why this matters: The message is clear, a closer link between front desk and housekeeping means faster room readiness. And that leads to higher guest satisfaction. On top of that, staff have fewer systems to manage, which frees them from juggling tools instead of doing real work.
#2 A funding model built by its own users.
Hospitable raises $1.5 million in funding to improve its STR platform. Instead of turning to traditional venture capital, the company secured investment directly from its own community of users and employees.
This alternative model gives hosts, property managers, and staff a stake in the platform’s future, reinforcing its independence while fueling further development of guest messaging and STR automation tools.
The platform serves about 20,000 property managers worldwide and has over 300,000 listings.
Funds will be used to enhance guest messaging features and expand integration with other services.
Hospitable lets property owners automate messaging, reviews, and task management for listings on major booking sites.
Key users and employees participated in this funding round, reflecting strong community trust.
Why this matters: Having users as investors makes the company more likely to listen to real operational needs (how cool is that?). Independence from VC can protect long-term product quality instead of chasing fast returns. This trend shows how community-led funding could also work in hospitality tech.
#3 New report reveals fresh insights.
RoomRaccoon publishes its European Hotel Performance Report 2025, revealing some interesting insights.
Southern Europe reports longer vacation stays, while Northern Europe focuses on shorter bookings.
Ancillary revenue like parking and breakfast add-ons grows as room rates face pressure.
Direct bookings rise in Belgium and the UK, signaling a move toward personalized service.
Why this matters: These trends suggest hotels must tailor their strategy to regional behaviors rather than applying one-size-fits-all. Also, ancillary revenue growth shows that small extras, if done well, can cover gaps.
